We've read about the Samsung SCH R900 which will be the first device that supports 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) network. MetroPCS has launched its Internet data services quickly LTE in Las Vegas and this is the first commercial LTE deployment in the U.S.
MetroPCS also announced that it will bring Samsung Craft (SCH R-900) as devices that can receive the LTE service in Vegas and in other areas "soon". Not only LTE, The Samsung Craft is aslo support the CDMA 20001x and CDMA EVDO Rev A services in LTE uncoverage areas. From MetroPCS' web site has written that The Craft is available in the Las Vegas area for $299 after rebate. The service plans for its LTE network will cost $55 or $60 (which includes taxes and fees) and are available with no contract.
Furthermore, Samsung Craft (LTE MetroPCS) will not avilable for additional memory slot, nd not using the SIM card methode, as planned by Verizon (VZ4G-LTE), but will using UICC (Universal Integrated Circuit Card). UICC will tells the network that the Craft is allowed to access LTE Service.
In the very near future, MetroPCS plans would expand the coverage area of their LTE to Atlanta, Sacramento, Dallas, Detroit, Boston, Florida, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco. It is no doubt that the end of 2010 is the time for 4G.
