Rugged phone with Android OS? yes here we are. A phone maker company in China has successfully announced and show off their new species in term on smartphone. Introducing Runbo X1, X3 and Runbo X5. The Runbo X1 is not an Android phone. Its a rugged phone designed for user that mostly work on extreme places and conditions, works on GSM qua-dband 900, 1800, 1700, 2100MHz, CDMA (single band 800MHz) and capable for walkie-talkie communications (Push to Talk app available). The Runbo X1 offers 2 inches color display, front web camera, IP67 certifications, external antenna with true adventurer style, a 2.200 mAh power source and a "laser shooter".

Meanwhile, Runbo X3 brings Android OS, equipped with a QWERTY keypad under its 3.5-inch IPS display, 8 MP main camera on the back, front camera, GPS and WiFi BGN support. Its powered by a 3800 mAh battery to support everything include 400 - 700 MHz walkie-talkie frequency, WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, Cellular data via GSM and or WCDMA (850/1900/2100 MHz) network. Under the hood, we can find 1 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB RAM supports and 4 GB of internal memory storage. Its also has a microSD slot for storage expansions, double SIM slot for WCDMA and GSM card, loudspeaker, laser "shooter" and has IP67 certifications for rugged device standards.
And the Runbo X5 is apparently made on top off all of those types. Runbo X5 has a slightly bigger form factor compared to X3 and X1. X5 offers bigger screen with IPS technology measuring 4.3-inch at 800 x 480 p resolution, runs Android 4.0.4 (Vanilla), removable external antenna for up to 10km walkie-talkie range, and has all the same specs as on Runbo X3 include mobile processor, RAM support, 3800mAh battery and so on.
And finally yes, they are made in and by China. There no words about US carriers availability, but if you curious about their quality and performance, as written by Engadget, you can grab them via Ebay or Taobao (Chinese online shop) for about $380 (X5), $320 (Runbo X3) and $160 for the Runbo X1.
