Sprint is the third largest carriers in the U.S. after AT & T and Verizon. lately, the rumor is quite slack, not like Verizon is excited with the LTE 4G network and supported devices, especially smartphones. Some of the rumors that circulated among them: that Sprint is building a LTE network to their 4G service. While many people ask how the fate of Sprint's WiMAX, Rumors continue.
From reliable sources (according AndroidandMe) says that: Sprint will launch the Motorola Atrix and Table Xoom next month, and both support the 4G Wimax been brought by Sprint.
Intentions and possibilities
Regardless of the rumors that are being built LTE Sprint, If TRUE, then:
Sprint is still maintaining its WiMAX and intends to defend it more seriously (by launching devices and the latest cool = dual-core Atrix / Xoom tablet).
Rumors are loaded Androidandme clearly says that both will support WIMAX (called 4g or not, is faster data service on Sprint's when compared to their 3G EVDO Rev A network). This means there will be a new species from Motorola Atrix (which we know to date supporting HSPA +, and has not been activated, because ... ). While classmates of Motorola Atrix that runs on Verizon's EVDO and LTE network, is the Droid Bionic (there has been no official announcement when will be launched) So, the new species will be called "Motorola Atrix WIMAX" and so also with "Motorola Xoom WIMAX".
Just like other smartphones on the Sprint, in addition to supporting WiMAX seems to also support 3G EVDO Rev. A networks, or can not be used at outside the area of WIMAX. I did not find any articles that contain the possibility of another name for "ATRIX WIMAX" which is planned to be launched by Sprint "next month". We will wait until mid-Arpil 2011 (next month). Stay awake.
