The PX-500 is a EVDO rev A CDMA PCMIA Modem. It also has an external antenna port, like all of Sprint's Rev A cards. Like all EV-DO Rev A products,
the Pantech PX-500 also works on slower EV-DO Rev 0 and 1xRTT networks where there's no EV-DO Rev A coverage, so it will give you data access anywhere Sprint has a signal.
