All Verizon's (individual cunsumer) will no longger have a choice for one-year contract. Personal end user (PE), Alltel lifeline, business customer without an ECPD profile ID and employee liable consumers (ELEU) are not eligible and terminated for one-year contract.
Citing a post at Phonearena reports this new 1-year contract policy will effective starting April 17, 2011. "This policy change applies to all transactions, plan types, and device types. Customers should continue to be informed of all VZW service options available to them, such as Prepay, Month to Month, and 2 year CAs".
All current one-year contact (individual user only) will continue until expiration and must choose between 2-years contract or month-to-month subscription to the next plan. As for National, Federal, Government, Major Accounts and Small Business is still acceptable to continue the one-year contract or make a new contract.
