Sprint officially introduced the HTC Evo Shift 4G on Tuesday along with a new MiFi 3G/4G (Wi-Fi) Mobile Hotspot from Novatel Wireless. Its will be available starting January 9 for $149.99 with a two-year contract. It's the third 4G smartphone for Sprint, behind the HTC Evo 4G and Samsung Epic 4G, and offers Wi-Fi hot-spot capabilities for up to eight devices.
The Evo Shift 4G comes with Android 2.2 Froyo, features a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture, and powered by 800MHz (only) Qualcomm MSM7630 processor. Sprint also announced the MiFi 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot from Novatel Wireless and will be available February 27 for $49.99 with a two-year contract.
The HTC Evo Shift 4G is powered by a 800 Mhz Qualcomm processor and it comes equipped with a 3.6-inch WVGA (800x480 pixels) capacitive touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera with 720p video recording, four-row QWERTY keyboard, microSD card slot with a 2 GB card inside, expandable to 32 GB, media player with 3.5mm headphone jack, FM Radio and Amazon MP3 store, six hours of talk time, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11n, which also works as a 3G/4G hotspot for up to eight Wi-Fi devices.
